Rachel McCrae: Level 2 LTA Instructor

Hi, my name is Rachel, and I’m very happy to be offering fun and enjoyable tennis coaching for all abilities at Withnell Fold this year.
Coaching Experience
I have been coaching at Feniscowles Tennis Club from the age of 16 in a variety of roles. I began my coaching journey as a volunteer, but have since completed my level 1 assistant course in 2016 and, more recently, the level 2 instructor course in 2023. My roles have included assisting the head coach with both junior and adult coaching programmes, and I hope to continue inspiring the next generation of children to take up tennis. Additionally, I helped out with a number of coaching programmes whilst at university. This involved delivering coaching sessions as well as organising and overseeing tournaments.
Playing Experience
I began playing tennis around the age of 9 and have been playing competitively since. Some of my first competitive matches began in the local leagues, which the club still plays in. However, my tennis developed drastically when I began playing in LTA graded tournaments. Some of my most notable achievements include reaching national finals representing Kirkham Grammar School and winning the AOC national finals whilst at Runshaw College. Other personal highlights are winning the ladies singles, ladies doubles, and the mixed doubles trophies in the Lancashire County Championships. From 2019-2023, I represented my university’s tennis team on a tennis scholarship in America.
Come and have a chat one Wednesday, or give me a call, if you’d like to join in or start out with some individual sessions.
Rachel
