We play tennis!

Our Courts

We have 2 floodlit painted tarmac courts which are available for booking by members and by the public. Courts are wheelchair accessible, and the clubhouse is part-way there with a step free access, currently available by arrangement only, (waiting for similar locking system to front door). Floodlighting costs £2 per hour and is controlled by tokens, which can be purchased when booking a court. Please read further details at bottom of booking page.

Coaching

Adults

Adult sessions will start again on Wednesday 8th April! We have some FREE sessions available for beginners, thanks to some funding from Tennis Lancashire, so if that’s you, follow the link below. You will be asked to create a LTA login (it’s free) if you haven’t got one already. Annoyingly, you’ll also have to agree to Clubspark’s 15 pages of Terms and Conditions, because they run the website booking goes through. Please don’t let that put you off, we’ve never had any GDPR issues with them, but if you really don’t want to create one, just drop us an email now, using the form at the bottom of the page to get added to the course.

First block will be 3 weeks, beginners will be 6-7pm,

Novice 7-8pm

Intermediate/Team players 8-9pm

Paid sessions are Pay as You Go on a week by week basis, £5 for Withnell Fold playing members, £6 non-members.

If you’re not sure which one to come to, give Rachel a call on 07872184783

Juniors

We are hoping to get junior coaching started at the club soon, please get in touch with Rachel

Social Tennis

There are social play sessions for Full Playing Members on Thursday mornings (10:00 am till 11:30 am) and Sunday mornings (11:00 am till 1:00 pm) – all standards welcome, plus a beginners/novices session on Saturdays (2:00 pm till 4:00 pm).

Get in touch if you’d like to come and join in. (Table tennis is an option if rain stops play!)

Or, why not try ..

PICKLEBALL

League Tennis

We will be running two league teams during the summer – one playing in the Ribble League (2026 Div 4, mixed, 4 men, 4 ladies) with Tuesday as home match night, and one playing in the East Lancs League (Div 2, Ladies, 2 pairs) also with Tuesday as home match night. In both cases away matches can be any night so you can still get involved if you couldn’t do Tuesdays.

East Lancs  www.eastlancs.tennis-league.org

We also had teams in Ribble Autumn League, Ladies Div 2 and Mens Divs 2 and 4, and are currently in East Lancs Winter League, Division 3, playing indoors on Sundays at Blackburn Northern, which runs until the end of March 2026. All league matches are double play.

Throughout the year we also run box leagues, fun tournaments, and hope to start singles ladders.

We are also looking to expand into walking/inclusive/teen sessions and work with local primary schools. If you would be interested in any of these, or could help deliver them, please get in touch.

For more information on what’s going on keep an eye on our News section of the club website and the club Facebook page.
